onsen japan and hotspring inspired line

Onsen is a premium skincare line concept inspired by the ritual purity and mineral richness of Japanese hot springs. The objective was to translate the calm, restorative atmosphere of traditional onsen culture into a modern, shelf-ready packaging system.

The design approach focused on building a scalable product architecture rooted in restraint and hierarchy. A minimal master identity anchors the line, while subtle color shifts and typographic structure differentiate product types (cleanser, essence, mask, body treatment) without disrupting visual cohesion.

Typography and layout were designed to balance serenity with clarity — prioritizing ingredient communication, ritual positioning, and functional navigation. The system allows for SKU expansion while maintaining brand integrity and premium shelf presence.

The result is a modular packaging framework that bridges cultural inspiration with contemporary global skincare standards.
